Krispy Kreme Offering Free Doughnuts if You’ve Been Vaccinated for Covid

Krispy Kreme is adding an extra incentive to get vaccinated – other than seeing friends and family after a year in isolation – free doughnuts. For anyone who can show proof that they’ve received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine (any of them will do!), they’ll give you a glazed doughnut, according to CBS News.

“Providing free Original Glazed doughnuts to those who get vaccinated is just another gesture that we hope sweetens people’s lives as the country accelerates to put this virus behind us,” company officials said in a statement.

The giveaway, which is only taking place at those locations participating in the promotion, features Krispy Kreme’s original glazed doughnut. It’s also not just a one time deal, according to NBC News.

Customers with a valid vaccination card can receive a free doughnut every day through the end of the year. However, they must walk into a location or drive-thru to take advantage of the promotion. It does not apply to shipping or delivery orders.

Krispy Kreme is also encouraging its employees to get vaccinated. Company executives are giving them four hours of paid time off to leave work and get their Covid-19 vaccines.

The chain is not the only one urging its employees to get vaccinated. Other companies, including Target, Aldi, Trader Joe’s, Tyson and McDonald’s are extending perks, including paid time off for workers who get vaccinated. Krispy Kreme is also supporting the effort by shipping free doughnuts to some specific vaccination sites nationwide.
